Subject Lines

There is nothing worse than an email that has a crappy subject line. It's like these people don't understand the sheer importance of it. There was once a time where I was beginning to send out outreach emails to my clients. All of my attention was laser-focused on the body of the email to make sure it was the cream of the crop. I came up with a concise and tight solution and gave them a great offer. For the subject line, I made it sound super enticing, and I went all out on it. Days went by, and I realized that I was getting no sales whatsoever. I was so perplexed because I swore everything in my email was perfect. For days, I self-analyzed all of my emails to really see what was going wrong. First thing that came to mind? My subject line. I used this hypothetical scenario pretending where I was the prospect reading my own email, and I realized that the subject line sounded super generic. I thought to myself, "Everybody probably uses a similar SL, which is most likely the reason I'm not closing anybody." I didn't know the solution, so I went with the first thing that came to my mind, which is to make it SUPERR simple. For example, if I was reaching out to people to get them more clients, I just said "Clients" as my SL. For people looking to get higher quality video editing done, I just said, "Video editing." To my surprise, I got WAY more sales this way. And learned an important lesson. Subject lines aren't supposed to be this crazy thing. All it's supposed to do is to really intrigue the prospect to keep reading on. Because at the end of the day, you could have the best email in the world, but if your subject line is trash, it won't even matter. Always keep your subject lines as simple as possible.
